Christmas in July

It’s the middle of July and the perfect time to be looking for projects to make for Christmas.

What?  Yes, don’t wait until September or even October to find the perfect Christmas craft project.  Start now, so you can practice new techniques and new tools.  This way, when you get into the holiday crafting mood, you can have fun and know that you’ve already made the boo-boos and mistakes and learned from them.  Nothing ruins a fantastic DIY project like not knowing the ins and outs of something new.  Here’s a short video showing a Christmas stocking I made, using one of the No-Sew Oh-So-Much-Fun kits from the shop.  (Get yours here!) Fun, quick and the perfect project to do with children and beginner sewists. Don’t sew? The kits can be used with pillows, tote bags, even a pair of jeans.

I  came across a useful and super quick sewing project that I am going to put to use right away.  Our downstairs bathroom has a hand towel hook, which for some reason my daughter thinks means she should take the towel off to use it, then leave it on the counter.  Just a little thing really, but I’ve been trying to come up with a way to prevent this from happening over and over again.  While this project would be perfect for a ring style towel holder, I’m going to give it a try and see if I can make that towel stay on the hook :).  Here’s the link to this easy project.
