Meet Bonnie

I'm pushing the boundaries of color combinations that are "comfortable" and finding that I can indeed put batiks, stripes, polka dots and paisleys in the same quilt.  I am also keenly aware of how we move and age through our lives, and want handbags and purses from Aloha Bonnie to be functional, beautiful, and to feel good while using them.

If you’re here on Aloha Bonnie, it means you are seeking a unique and perhaps one-of-a-kind keepsake.  My designs are created here in Hawaii, with colors influenced by vibrant flowers and sunny blue skies.

As a mom of three, I know how busy you can be with living life. I value your time and trust. I love what I do, and want you to love what I can do for you. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have.

This is me.

Growing up on a small farm in Kahalu’u on the island of O’ahu, I fell in love exploring, creating, and imagining all sort of possibilities.  My artistic journey has been long and convoluted; from winning awards for photography, digital paintings, to collage work.

I have let my art sit in a dark corner of the closet for years on end.  I have learned new creative skills, sometimes with a few rough starts. A few absolute fails. Recently, I have rediscovered my love of fabric and construction with a little needle and thread.  I’m pushing the boundaries of color combinations that are “comfortable” and finding that I can indeed put batiks, stripes, polka dots and paisleys in the same quilt.  I am also keenly aware of how we move and age through our lives, and want handbags and purses from Aloha Bonnie to be functional, beautiful, and to feel good while using them.

This is what I am about.

I want to create, not just to simply create something, but with meaning and purpose.  Sometimes it’s just silliness. We all need a bit of silly in our lives; puts things into perspective.   Sometimes it will be the beginning of good memories or a keepsake of a lifetime. Treasures that are soft and snuggly are the best, aren’t they?

I try new things.  All the time.  It’s good for my brain.  Sometimes it makes me humble.  Sometimes it discovers muscles I didn’t know were there.  Or I forgot about.  Trying new things reminds me it’s a big, big world out there.

It is my hope that you too will try new things, explore with the eyes of a child, and find ways to connect and nourish this great world we live in. Make it a habit to add silliness each week, and share it with aloha to those around you.

Breathe deeply my friends!
